Forever Young: KP Photo Turns 30!

What a fun ride it’s been, these 30 years. We survived everything from mullets to darkroom chemicals, although some here would argue that our film developer-turned digital artist, James, is still little kooky from those fumes.

Our studio was born in 1987 by risk-takers — two rogues who’d shunned a comfortable corporate life to start a new business the same year the stock market crashed. When Jan Kalman and Bob Pabst began their namesake commercial photography studio, Kalman & Pabst Photo Group, little did they know the legacy they’d leave behind.

At this milestone age, our youthful optimism and energy has matured with wisdom that can only be gained from three decades of experience, and we're still grateful to run a successful business based on practices that were ahead of its time -- a model that appealed to millennials before the generation had been conceived.

No matter how well we try to articulate our home away from home here at KP Photo, we had a hard time writing about what makes this place so special, so we were honored to be featured by two gifted reporters from Cleveland.com and Crain's Cleveland. They paint a beautiful picture of our culture and what keeps our clients coming back time and time again.

Cheers to 30 Years!
